Book Cover

In this project I redesigned the book cover of The Princess Bride. Focusing on the themes and messages throughout the book helped to create the concept. I decided to focus on the eyes and the idea of hiding behind a mask. Hidden meanings and messages make the viewer think. As well as creating a strong focal point and getting up close and personal with the detailing and gaze of the eyes.

I had a variety of ideas initially for this book cover. After drawing some small thumbnails and exploring different layouts and illustrations I decided on my last thumbnail. The eyes create a strong focal point and best support the messages in the book.
