This app prototype was created with a different type of user in mind. Rather than focusing on the average this project is specifically designed for people who see and navigate the world in different ways. Breaking free from what we most of the time consider “normal” or “average”, people with (dis)Abilities navigate this world with different needs. This app was designed with the color blind in mind. Not specifically tied to one type the app has options for all different kinds of color blindness.
Drop Down Filter
Outside of the Chorma Guide app there is an option inside your phone drop down menu to turn on a filter based on the settings in the app. This changes the colors on your whole phone to create more contrast based on the colors you can already see well. This way when you are looking at anything on your phone, you’ll be able to see everything as Cleary as possible without confusion.
Color Identifier Path
The color identifier allows the user to take an image and select one pixel. Based on that pixel color it gives the color information.
Img Scanner Path
The image scanner allows the user to take a picture of something that is hard for them to see (a confusing map or menu for example). It then converts the img (based on which color blind setting you have selected) and creates more contrasting by changing colors and values.
Color Settings
The color settings allow the user to customize the app experience by selecting which type of color blindness they have. All of the other app features are based off of the setting they select in this portion of the app.
